How to Use This Tool
- 1 Enter your page title and watch the live character meter against Google 60-character cutoffs.
- 2 Enter your meta description and monitor the 155-character snippet boundary.
- 3 Add an image URL and canonical page URL to render social share cards.
- 4 Toggle between Google Search, Twitter/X, and Facebook/LinkedIn preview cards.
- 5 Copy the clean generated HTML meta tags directly into your site template.
Catching Truncation Before Publication
A title tag and meta description that read fine in your code editor can still get cut off or look wrong once Google or a social platform actually renders them, and there is no way to know that without previewing it somewhere.
Google typically displays around 60 characters of a title before truncating it with an ellipsis, and around 155 characters of a description, though both numbers shift slightly depending on pixel width rather than a strict character count. Open Graph tags control a separate thing entirely: how the page looks when someone shares the link on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn, which uses og:title, og:description, and og:image rather than the standard meta description.
This tool renders both previews side by side so you can catch a truncated title or a missing image before the page goes live, rather than finding out after someone has already shared a broken looking link.
